New Characters!!!

Well, it's been some time since our last post. Things are going good in the Constellation world, and we've been really busy working hard on trying to get the Constellations out there. We have some new concepts and characters that we think will really help bring some dynamic to the group. What do you think about the two new characters on the sides?

First look

This is first look at The Constellations toy that's being sculpted by the extremely talented Jason Peltz. Currently we are shopping the toy idea around to see if we can get some interest, then if no big toy companies jump on this, we will produce it ourselves and sell it on the web. We will be posting the development of the toy as we go along.

Thursday, October 12, 2006

So here is what the toy will look like. We have a really talented scupltor (Jason Peltz) that will be working with us to make this happen. You can see some of the other great stuff he has sculpted his website is . Jason's credits include The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Hercules, Mushu from Mulan, Tarzan, Kuzco from The Emperor's New Groove, Jumba from Lilo and Stitch, and Koda from Brother Bear.

Well hello folks. So another update to what we have been doing. Currently we are writing a few more episodes of The Constellations, and once that's done we are going to re-submit the show to the folks at Nickelodeon and try to convince them to jump on this stuff.

Also we have been working on the idea of creating toys of the girls. We have been in talks with an amazing sculptor, so hopefully sometime soon. We will have more info for you next week.

Also was wondering if anyone would be interested in T-shirts of the constellations? If anyone was, what do you think would look cool for the T-Shirt? Either all the girls together, maybe just one or two, in their mythical or human forms? Well if anyone has idea's let me know, and we'll make it happen. Our plans are to put them on after we design them.

The Constellations people to thank

Hey hey, Chris Dainty here. Well we did our pitch and we didn’t even mess up a line. We got some really helpful constructive criticism, which was a huge help. We are working on writing some new episode ideas then we will re submit and who knows maybe it will take off one day soon. But overall we are really happy of what we pitched, and it seemed to go over good. We will keep you posted.

So lets talk about the origin of this show idea. Well it all started with Jess, she had an idea about four girls that lived in a magical place where anything was possible. Then I asked her, "Hey want to work on this idea together?" So we started to build the world of the Constellations. The overall idea came from us tossing ideas back and forth of what these mythical creatures could be. Then the idea, Constellations came about. We looked in a book to see if there even was constellations to the characters Jess had designed. We make some changes, one being that Picey was at one point a fairy, which we changed to being the fish.

Jessica did all the designs for the characters as I wrote the show bible. We would often toss ideas back and forth to what they should look like, we even based Dr. Logic off a friend of ours, which was really funny. With our first episode that we wrote Jess came up with the idea for a talent show. I wrote the episode but every step of the way would bounce ideas back and forth. Finally after everything was written, I took Jess' AMAZING artwork and put it together for our show bible. And then 6 months later we both had a show pitch under our belt.

It’s been a great experience working with Jess, and so many others on this project.

I just wanted to thank;

Jessica - The constellations is nothing without your amazing art!

Gerry - Thanks for your animation help, you’re a genius animator

Juan - Thanks for helping us sparkle with your AMAZING special effects

Ren - Always great working with you

Max - Your music gave our show something great, your crazy talented!

Kyle - Great work, its been awesome getting to know you. You gave me so many good ideas

Norrie - Your the Pro Tools master!

Alana - Thanks for fixing me bad grammar hehehe

Andrea - Thanks for the late night last min grammar fixes you helped me big time

Michel - Seeing the start of it all, thanks for all the ideas.

Sylvie - You gave our show an iconic logo, Thank you SO MUCH!

Maral - Picking our show to be pitched at the animation festival

-All the people that we dropped by their house to practice our pitch, thanks for lessening

Without these people help we wouldn’t have developed a show that I'm so proud to have my name on. It’s really been a great experience working on this show, and now its at the point were we are at the fine tuning stage and we'll see where it leads us.

You might have heard is voice before if you live in the Ottawa area as he is a radio personality on The Bear 106.9. He also did a voice for the crazy Aunt Irene in my short "Emma Graves". He is on Myspace at

Also in the background you can see our big poster that we got printed for the pitch.

We should have the animated pitch/short up on youtube by wed.

10 days till we pitch, craziness!!!!!!!!!

Here is the link to the Ottawa Animation Festival page about our pitch.

Here is a pic of Jess and her dog, which was the inspiration for Dr. Logic's dog.

New Logo

So here is the new logo for "The Constellations". It was created by the very talented Sylvie Bissonette. Amazing work Sylvie!!! The older version didn't really have the cartoony look to it, and I find that this one really shows more of what the show should look like
